Group Classes
Group Classes are great for getting your dog to pay attention to you with multiple distractions. Group classes are not always for all dogs - some dogs are high anxiety or very fearful and may shut down if they feel to much pressure or become overly stimulated. Although group classes can also help to build confidence in dogs of this nature, too. As long as you set your expectations to not expect Lassie once class is finished. If you feel that this is your dog please talk to Jenna before you register and you will be able to make arrangements to pay only for the classes you participate in.
The first class of all sessions are for "mom's and dad's" only. In this class Jenna will explain to you what to expect, suggest which equipment to use, what to bring with you and overall how to really set your pup up for success! She will also do a demo for you with her dog Mattie.

| Puppy Kindergarten | |
|---|---|
| Socialization is critical between 8 to 20 weeks in order for your puppy to become a well adjusted adult. Puppies not properly socialized, with humans and other pups, are more likely to suffer from fear aggression, low self confidence, separation anxiety and are more prone to bite. All puppies from 8 weeks to 4 months should enroll. This class consists of 5 one hour lessons where you and your puppy will be introduced to the wonderful world of obedience training. We also get them used to a 'Groomers touch' with a Puppy Massage. Cover the biggest obstacles that keep you from Housetraining your pup and as many others as we can. Our main goal here is to get a good foundation for Basic Obedience while nipping a lot of those problems behaviors, such as jumping, in the bud before they become major issues! | |
| Basic Obedience: | |
| In this class we will continue to build on what was learned in Puppy Kindergarten, don't worry if you didn't take Puppy Kindergarten, Jenna will start with the foundations for everything. This class will consist of 7 one hour lessons where you will learn how to get your dogs attention, sit, down, stay, come, and walking nicely on a leash. Jenna will also cover any problem behaviors that you may be having such as jumping, chewing, barking and most importantly, your dog’s specific needs. Dogs 5 months and older, along with dogs who have completed Puppy Kindergarten or One-on-One Training with Jenna, are eligible. | |
| Reactive Rover: | |
| This class is aimed specifically at the dogs who lunge, bark and act aggressively towards other dogs or people. Jenna knows how hard this can be and how embarrasing it is to feel like you can't control your dog. In this class you will learn how to read your dogs body language and how to get your dog to focus on you before there is a reaction. This class is limited to four dogs so that it is kept very controlled. We will take it slow and keep all dogs at a distance, while building up to them being in closer proximity a week at a time. The main thing that we will work on is attention while rewarding calm behaviors while including learing some basic obedience commands. Jenna will help you learn how to stay calm and give you the invaluable tools that will help to make sure that when your dog is reacting - you aren't. This will not only help your dog to calm down faster but will help you gain quicker control when they lose control. The goal of this class is not to have your dog be magically cured but to give you a solid foundation for you to feel comfortable in almost any situation. This class will consist of 6 one hour lessons. |

| Tricks and Treats: | |
| In this class you will learn how to shape behaviors, using clicker training, that are the basis for the tricks we all love. If you can think of it we can show you how to do it! Your dog will learn "Raise Your Hand!", "Bow", "Backup" and possilby a few others. After this class you will know how to teach your dog any trick you'd like! | |
| Nail Trimming: | |
| Does your dog run for the hills when you pull out the nail clippers? This class is aimed specifically at owners who want to learn how to trim their dogs nails. In this 5 week course you will learn all about your pooches feet so that you no longer have to be afraid that you will hurt them, how to use the clippers and what is the best type to buy. But most importantly your pup will learn how to be calm and relaxed when you are clipping their nails. The only requirement for this class is that your dog is comfortable in a down. If your dog isn't comfortable in the down but you would like to take this class call Jenna for a one-on-one to help you and your pooch. Learning a down is usually very easy and can be learned in one session.
